North-Topsail-Beach
sits on Topsail Island, thirty minutes north of Wilmington in Onslow County, North Carolina. This part of the southern coast is known as "where history meets fun on the Carolina shore." It's a wonderful spot for a family seaside vacation with miles and miles of clean, soft, white sandy beaches and plenty of fresh air and sunshine. North Topsail Beach is a laid back town that offers a relaxing, peaceful getaway. A typical day on Topsail Island might include swimming, surfing, scuba diving, beachcombing, parasailing, hiking or biking. You can enjoy deep-sea fishing, surf fishing or pier fishing. North Topsail Beach is one of the most northern sites in the world where loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs and the island has the only sea turtle hospital in North Carolina. The whole southern coast region of North Carolina, which encompasses the area from Topsail Island south through Wilmington, is filled with historic spots and quaint beachside communities, making it one of the most desirable vacation spots on the East Coast. Just south of Topsail Island is the Cape Fear Coast and the uncrowded beaches of Pleasure Island and Kure Beach.

North Topsail Beach Weather & Climate

The North Carolina Coast has a moderate year-round climate. Summer air temperatures along the immediate coastline are very comfortable and considerably lower than those even just a few miles inland. In the winter months, coastal fronts are common and can push inland, bringing warmer than normal temperatures. Opposite the ocean, across the narrow barrier islands behind most beaches, are the "Sounds". These protected inland waters are calm, quiet and sheltered even from the sea breezes. There is no pronounced wet or dry season along the North Carolina coast, although July and August are usually the wettest months and October and November the driest. Tropical hurricanes come close enough to the North Carolina coast to influence the weather about twice in an average year.
